Rolling Stones Working With BMI to Stop Trump's Use of 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' at Rallies

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - For years, it has seemed as if Donald Trump can always get what he wants, at least when it comes to using classic rock and pop hits at his campaign rallies against the wishes of the original artists. But the Rolling Stones, who have tried for years to keep the president from appropriating “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” as his walk-off music, have not thrown in the towel.

On Saturday, the group sent out a statement saying it is enlisting BMI, the performing rights organization that oversees public use of the song, in their quest to keep the track from being used for politically partisan purposes. And the band says there’ll be a lawsuit if the president continues using the song without a license.

Trump couldn't answer a question about what he'd do in a 2nd term.

President Donald Trump got tied up in a Fox News interview on Thursday night when Sean Hannity asked what he would want to accomplish in a second term.

---->"What's at stake in this election as you compare and contrast, and what are your top priority items for a second term?" Hannity asked. <------

From there, Trump went on a meandering series of tangents before the conversation moved on to his former national security adviser John Bolton and his tell-all book.

Trump was unable to outline any policies or priorities he would pursue in a second term, other than perhaps his anti-Bolton maxim of "You don't have to kill people."

Trump began by talking about how he now has the benefit of experience after arriving at the White House as a political rookie.

"One of the things that will be really great — you know, the word 'experience' is still good," Trump said. "I always say talent is more important than experience. I've always said that.

"But the word 'experience' is a very important word," he added. "It's a very important meaning.

"I never did this before. I never slept over in Washington. I was in Washington I think 17 times — all of a sudden I'm president of the United States. You know the story. I'm riding down Pennsylvania Avenue with our first lady, and I say, 'This is great.'"

SERIOUSLY, WHO IS VOTING FOR THIS INCOMPETENT? ^^^^^^

Trump's phone calls with world leaders are said to be so unhinged that US officials think the president is 'delusional' and a national security threat

  • The Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein on Monday painted a scathing portrait of President Donald Trump's conduct on the world stage, particularly as it relates to his conversations with other leaders.
  • Multiple sources described the US president as bullying and belittling allies while fawning over autocratic leaders.
  • Sources said that Trump behaved in a "near-sadistic" fashion with female leaders; that he talked to Russian President Vladimir Putin as if they're "two guys in a steam bath"; and that Turkey's president "took him to the cleaners."
  • Trump's behavior was said to be so unusual and erratic that it convinced several senior administration officials that the president was "delusional."

As Trump starts seeing his longstanding 41% start to crack, we are seeing more Republicans start to distance themselves and hedge. (liz Cheney)

If his poll numbers continue to drop, I expect more rats jump ship and pretend they were against him all along.

  • Claudia Conway, the daughter of White House adviser Kellyanne Conway, has grown a TikTok following of more than 31,000 followers while making anti-Trump and pro-Black Lives Matter posts.
  • The 15-year-old told Insider she's an advocate for social justice and wants to use her platform "to inform people and spread love."
  • She said her father — prominent Trump critic George Conway — supports her speaking her mind, but her mother has been apprehensive, asking her to delete her TikTok videos.
  • Still, Conway called her mother a "badass" and called both her parents the "most well-educated people" she had ever met.
  • "I believe that ignorance stems from a lack of education and a lack of knowledge, and I believe knowledge is power," the 15-year-old Conway said. "Even if you have opposite views of me as long as you're informed and able to see both sides, that's all that really matters."

"I respect everyone's views," Conway told Insider. "For me, there's a certain threshold, I think. Everyone in my family are (sic) Trump supporters except for my Dad and I."

Conway, who described her political opinions as "100%" leftist and liberal," told Insider that she doesn't expect her views to change as she grows up and credits TikTok for helping her get her message out.

He took it down after a barage of responses like this:

"Eric Trump has been an endless source of stupidity since he arrived on the scene. He regularly posts idiotic tweets that do nothing more than prove that he has no self-awareness, no savvy instincts, and everything he does bursts with pureed entitlement. Did we mention he is dumb as grass? Yes, we did, but it bears repeating." lol

Ex-George W. Bush officials launch new group supporting Joe Biden
By Chandelis Duster, CNN

Updated 11:56 AM EDT, Thu July 02, 2020

“A group of former George W. Bush administration and campaign officials has launched a new super PAC to mobilize disaffected Republican voters for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

The group, launched Wednesday under the name "43 Alumni for Biden," "seeks to unite and mobilize a community of historically Republican voters who are dismayed and disappointed by the damage done to our nation by Donald Trump's presidency," according to a release. The formation of the group is the latest example of efforts being made by anti-Trump Republicans to defeat the President in November.“

This is not funny in the least. There could be many people who will vote for KW and that only take the votes from Biden which means Trump could pull off a win. Americans really have to think long and hard before throwing away their vote on a rapper with mental health issues. I'm not saying KW could never be president as we know Americans love their celebrities (look who's currently in the position), but if he ever wants to be in that position he has a lot of education ahead of him as to how to properly run a country. If people simply vote for him because he's black and they think he's cool, it could be a disaster and I think at this point Americans deserve much better.

There would be no way for him to get on the ticket at this point. The primaries have been held and the parties have selected their party candidates. He's only putting that out there to see if he can pull some votes from Biden, but there is no real intent there, and it would not be possible for him to do so.

I thought Kanye was a Trump supporter? So he might as well take votes away from Trump. And it is sad and funny at the same time. If Kanye were to join the race, the number of presidential candidates with mental health issues would rise from 2 to 3.

Don't, not yet, because if there is a way around it and he is working with the Trump campaign on this, they may try to find a way. I agree that he says and does things for attention, but right now, what he is saying and doing has been in support of Trump. So we'll see how this plays out. But as long as people don't lose their heads over it, the candidates are Biden and Trump.

However glimmer of hope some polls offer, it is still scary how strong Trump holds in many polls. It can;t be dismissed that he has a pretty strong cult following among almost half of voters.
